The History and Influence of Race in Local Politics

From the days of “whites only” on City Council, the era of white flight and mandatory bussing, splitting Jackson Ward with an interstate highway, at-large mayor and the ward system … there’s a long, long history of race in city and county governments. It would make for an interesting evening(s) to have a roundtable discussion / town hall meeting with current and former local government officials. They’re politicians, so we’ll need an exceptional moderator. To honestly talk about the influence of race in Richmond politics.

Well-behaved public welcome. Maybe we can get local PBS to sponsor.

  2. You actually make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I might by no means understand. It seems too complicated and extremely huge for me. I am looking ahead to your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the hang of it!
