Book Clubs encourages local book clubs to include books that address issues of racism both current and historical. Five suggestions out of thousands of possible choices:

  • Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (unabridged version) by Mark Twain
  • Hillbilly Elegy, A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance
  • A Mighty Long Way, My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School by Carlotta Walls LaNier
  • The Case for Reparations by Ta-Nehisi Coates in The Atlantic [link]
  • Richmond’s Unhealed History by Benjamin Campbell will provide a platform to share what we learned from a particular book. Possibility of diverse book clubs reading the same book and coming together to discuss the book from different points of view.
